At Dunham-on-Trent we use Music Express to deliver our music curriculum. We also have a professional Ukulele teacher, Mr Peter Higgins, who teaches Yr 3 to Yr 6  weekly to play the Ukulele.  

Some children also pay for weekly private instrumental music lessons provided by Inspire who are part of the Nottinghamshire Music Hub. We also provide opportunities for children to join Rock Steady, who come in weekly as a private organisation to teach children to play instruments such as the keyboard, drums and electric guitar. 

The children perform termly in concerts to showcase their learning to their families which gives them the opportunity to perform to an audience and develop their musical confidence.

The school also takes part in 'Young Voices' the largest school choir in the world and performed in Sheffield at the Arena in February 2023. The children aged between Yr 2 and Yr 6 sang brilliantly and made everyone proud of their achievements.
